Celebrating the Nightingale Hospital – Buttercup Outpatient Unit

The Nightingale Celebration Event

Since the onset of the pandemic, the Nightingale Hospital has been at the forefront of developing innovative healthcare services to tackle the challenges faced in the Devon region. With the successful establishment of the Devon Diagnostic Centre, the Southwest Ambulatory Orthopaedic Centre, the relocation of RDUH Rheumatology services, and the Centre for Excellence for Eyes, the hospital has consistently pushed the boundaries of patient care. The recent addition of the Buttercup Outpatient Unit marks the completion of this transformative journey.

The earlier phases of the Nightingale Hospital’s reconfiguration have already set high standards by offering groundbreaking orthopaedic, ophthalmic, rheumatological, and diagnostic imaging services. The Buttercup Unit expands this scope further by incorporating physiological diagnostics and providing “one-stop” outpatient services across various specialties. This development aims to streamline patient care, reduce waiting times, and enhance the overall healthcare experience for the community.

To commemorate this significant achievement, Nightingale Hospital hosted a celebration event on Tuesday, 16th July. The event brought together colleagues, patients, and all those who contributed to the success of these services.

The event featured a warm welcome and speeches from key personnel, acknowledging the dedication and hard work of the staff. A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Buttercup Unit, which included a tour showcasing the state-of-the-art facilities and services now available to patients.

Unveiling the New Services

The Buttercup Unit’s design focuses on providing a calming environment for patients. The unit’s waiting area, painted with beautiful murals, offers a serene space for patients and visitors. The dedication to creating a patient-friendly atmosphere reflects the hospital’s commitment to holistic care.

Looking Ahead
