Mullion Pupils Leave Their Mark at the Polurrian Hotel

Pupils from Mullion Primary School and Mullion Secondary School recently joined the team on site at the Polurrian Hotel, taking the opportunity to leave their mark on the project by signing the building’s steelwork.

The visits took place as work continues on the next phase of the hotel’s £10 million redevelopment, giving pupils a behind-the-scenes look at a live construction site and the chance to learn more about how a major building project comes together.

The pupils were shown around the site before adding their names and messages to the steel beams that will become part of the completed building.

For every pupil who took part, their signature will remain within the structure long after construction is complete, creating a lasting connection between the local community and the redevelopment of the Polurrian Hotel.

Inspiring an interest in the built environment

The visits form part of the wider partnership between the Polurrian Hotel and the local schools, helping pupils gain a genuine understanding of the built environment and the variety of work involved in delivering a construction project.

Experiences like these provide young people with an opportunity to see construction first-hand, ask questions and gain an insight into an industry that offers a wide range of future career opportunities.

The pupils were also able to see the scale of the redevelopment from within the structure, surrounded by the steel frame, scaffolding and ongoing works, before coming together with the project team for a group photograph on site.

Building connections with the local community

At Nevada Construction, we are proud to support initiatives that bring local communities closer to the projects being delivered in their area.

Welcoming pupils onto site was a great opportunity to share more about the work taking place at the Polurrian Hotel while creating an experience that will remain part of the building itself for years to come.

We look forward to continuing our work with the Polurrian Hotel and seeing this next phase of the redevelopment take shape.
