ISCA Lofts on Longbrook Street has been refurbished to deliver modern, durable student accommodation in the heart of Exeter. Completed to an accelerated 10‑week programme, the scheme renewed 69 en‑suite bedrooms across three storeys and 12 shared kitchen, dining and living areas, alongside communal spaces, stairwells, the ground‑floor lobby and office areas. Works were delivered in a busy city‑centre setting surrounded by residential properties, shops and bars, requiring precise logistics and considerate construction to protect neighbours and the public.

The project began with a full soft strip, followed by targeted upgrades across all bedrooms and shared areas. Kitchens were refurbished with new worktops and fittings, shower rooms received improvements and new floor coverings. We installed desks, TV brackets and other fixtures to enhance usability, and carried out fire‑door inspections with improvements where required to support compliance. Soundproofing upgrades were introduced to improve acoustic performance between rooms and communal areas. In line with the client’s brief, washing machines were relocated to specified positions to optimise space and amenity.

The central location and constant footfall of surrounding streets meant logistics were tightly controlled, with deliveries and waste removal carefully scheduled to minimise disruption. Our close collaboration with the client and supply chain partners ensured the programme was met in full, ready for student occupation at the start of term.

The completed refurbishment has transformed ISCA Lofts into a modern and welcoming residence that provides students with a safe, practical and comfortable environment. The refreshed en-suite bedrooms and communal facilities create a high-quality living experience, supporting both individual study and social interaction. By modernising kitchens, upgrading shared areas and improving soundproofing, the project has enhanced the long-term appeal and performance of the accommodation.
