Yesterday, Nevada Construction was delighted to host 40 Year 1 Building Surveying students from the University of Plymouth at our Tinside Lido project in Plymouth. As part of our ongoing efforts to engage with and inspire the future of the construction industry, the visit provided a hands-on learning opportunity at one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
The students were guided by Kevin Hendy from Nevada Construction, alongside Mark Quadling and Leah Bolton from Currie & Brown. Together, they delivered an informative and interactive tour, giving the students valuable insight into the operations of a live construction site.
From site logistics to the complexities of working on a historic structure, the students gained first-hand knowledge of the challenges and rewards of real-world projects. Kevin and the team explained the meticulous planning and collaboration required for such a unique and sensitive refurbishment, ensuring the site maintains its integrity while progressing efficiently.
This visit not only demonstrated our dedication to excellence but also showcased our commitment to inspiring the next generation of construction professionals. By offering practical insights and fostering engagement, we hope to ignite their passion for the built environment and encourage them to pursue fulfilling careers in construction.
A huge thank you to the University of Plymouth for their collaboration and to the students for their enthusiasm and curiosity. We look forward to seeing them shape the future of our industry!
